Welcome to the AISL Media Center
Functioning as the information hub of the school, the AISL primary and secondary libraries share an attractive space adjacent to the administration offices on campus. During the 2006-2007 school year, the Media Center underwent major structural changes and expansion, including the additional of a 20 station media lab accessible for students and classes. Although the libraries share the same space, each library serves a distinct population focusing on encouraging reading, promoting information literacy, and providing a contemporary collection of print, electronic, and online sources.
Policies and procedures have been developed to ensure that each library has an atmosphere that is conducive to reading and research. A growing collection of resources (currently at 13,500) reflect the goals and aims of the PYP, MYP, and IB programs as well as providing reading enrichment and skills for lifelong learning. There are nine (9) computer stations in the library to supplement the media lab and provide access to selected programs and databases, including Grolier Online, Student Resource Center, Opposing Viewpoints, BrainPop, and Inspiration.
The Media Center is run by a team of a professional librarian, an assistant librarian, and a library assistant. Serving all members of the AISL community, the library is open until from 7:15 -16:30 Monday – Thursday and until 14:30 on Fridays.
