PSAT/NSMQT
PSAT/NSMQT is a multiple-choice test that measures verbal and mathematical reasoning abilities that are important in doing college work. It is administered to S6 students at school once a year in October.
- Taking the PSAT/NSMQT provides good practice for taking the SATs, gives a clear indication of your strengths and weaknesses, and supplies information to help plan your college or university course of study.
- It provides free access to the MyRoad College Board on-line career-planning tool. (See the College Website Directory.)
- In addition, if you are a US citizen, colleges are sent your PSAT/NSMQT scores (with your consent) and use this information to create a short-list of candidates for merit-based awards.
- All AIS students in S6 take the PSAT/NSMQT tests in October.
- Students can take the PSAT/NSMQT in S5 if they make a request to the counselor. If taken during S5 you will not be eligible for the National Merit Scholarship Awards, but you may take the test again in S6 to gain eligibility (if you are a US citizen).
- You do not need to register for PSAT/NSMQT tests. The college counselor will do this for you.
-An on-line Score Report indicating your individual strengths and weaknesses is available in December and is used for planning SAT preparation.
