• Empower young people to make a difference in their world through thoughtful understanding, deliberate action, and joyous learning.
• Focus upon global issues that most directly impact the African continent.
• Support and sustain the Service Summit Africa 2009 initiatives with an emphasis on service learning.
• Utilize the Global Issues Network to further bridge understanding and action.
• Highlight our host nation of Zambia and seek to utilize expertise from the African continent in order to emphasize the ability to think globally while acting locally.
• Facilitate a day of service around the Lusaka region so that ideas are put into practice.
• Model sustainability through the use of resources throughout the conference, and create a conference framework that can be hosted annually within Africa.
• Build lasting relationships and networks between students and faculty as they work together towards sustainable solutions for solving global issues.
