School TripsAll Primary school classes go on field trips during the year as appropriate. Students travel in school and/or embassy buses and are accompanied by teachers and at times parents. Field trips are designed to be an integral part of the curriculum whether it is the class unit of inquiry, art, performing arts or maths. Students in grades 2 and 3 have sleep-overs at school to help them develop independence and get used to being away from home overnight. To further develop this independence and to use the local environment as part of the curriculum, children in grades 4 and 5 go on overnight trips outside Lusaka and may be away for up to 3 nights. |
