Muzeya started swimming as a youngster at the Mufilira Amateur swimming Club where he was good enough to be selected for the national team in 2000. His achievements and successes continued through to 2002 where in the Zambian International Meet, he was named as "Best Swimmer" in the boys 16 years and over category. As a result of his successes in the pool, he and fellow swim-mate Chisela Kanchela received a sponsorship from their coach, Jill Black, to attend a swim training camp in Australia where he also competed in the Western Australian State Age Championships. Following this, he took part in another international swim meet in Swaziland, winning medals in the fly and backstroke events.

In 2003, the Blacks again sponsored him to go back to Australia in order to receive his coaching and swim training qualifications. While there, he competed in numerous galas winning more medals and trophies in the backstroke and fly events.

In July 2003, he represented Zambia in the FINA World Championships in Barcelona where, as team captain, he had the privilege of carrying the country's flag. He broke the long-standing 200m backstroke Zambian record during these championships.

Later in 2003, he returned to Zambia where he was appointed to the staff at Baobab College, involved in swim coaching and PE training. He continued to compete however, amassing more medals for various events.

In 2005, he took up the assistant coaching position at AIS, the position he still occupies.

Muzeya's coaching abilities and knowledge of the technical matters pertaining to swimming are excellent. He has much to contribute to the AIS swimmers regarding improvement of technique and stroke correction. His patience and friendly disposition make him popular among the swimmers and he is a real "team player". His strengths and knowledge are a great asset to the Torpedoes.
