Welcome to the AISL Library!
Welcome to the AISL library media center! Our comfortable, well-appointed center functions variously as a community center, a learning commons, and a vibrant hub for literacy. The primary and secondary library share the same space, yet each serves a distinct segment of the school, focusing on encouraging reading, teaching information literacy and digital citizenship, and providing access to a rich contemporary collection. Our robust wifi (among the fastest in Zambia) and many plug-in points make for easy internet research, browsing, and charging. We also strive to support faculty, parents, and other members of our wider community. Our collection includes
26,000 print / electronic / audio-visual resources
20 + online subscription sources
15 languages in our Mother Language collection
Our two teacher-librarians collaborate regularly with teachers to build on units of inquiry at the PYP level and units of study on the MYP and DP levels and also offer on-going direct instruction. In addition, the library media center hosts visiting authors annually to enrich our programs.
