PTA

The American International School of Lusaka is at the center of a warm, truly diverse international community that extends well beyond students, parents and staff. This page attempts to celebrate the many ways in which the AISL Community, including staff, students and parents come together to support each other and the wider community.

Parent Teachers Association

Here at AISL we have a growing parent community. The major aims of the P.T.A @ AISL are to encourage closer links between home and school and to organise events for parents, teachers, school staff and students. Most of our events are not for 'fund raising' but rather for encouraging members of our school community to integrate and feel part of our school family.

We will continue to organise informative Coffee Morning sessions and aim to strengthen links with our local community.

AISL Refer-A-Friend Discount Program

AISL is committed to offering the highest-quality educational program, faculty, and facilities in Zambia in order to pursue our vision that Every Student Thrives.  Over the years, our parents have always been our best advocates in the community. If you have friends looking for an exceptional school, please refer them to us. If they like what they see and enroll their children, we will apply a credit to your account of $1,000 for each referred child enrolled in Grades K-12 and $500 for each child in the ELC. This is our way of saying “Thank You” to our wonderful Parent Ambassadors. In order to be eligible for this program one must be considered a self-payer (rather than one for whom tuition is paid by an employer). The referred parent must indicate that you referred them on their application form.

Please note the following:
·       Referral discounts are not applicable to siblings of existing AISL students or students who have been previously enrolled.
·       The referral discount program is not retroactive and is only valid for newly enrolled students
·       Referrals are subject to the usual school admission and assessment policies.

Facilities for the Community

AISL takes pride in offering our students and their families the best campus facilities in Lusaka.  In an effort to protect, maintain, and secure them, all facilities use must be approved in advance.  All coaches, individuals, groups, and organizations who wish to use AISL facilities for any activity not directly sponsored by the school must first obtain official written approval.  This applies to all facilities, including sports fields, pools, tennis courts, the covered court, the PAC, or classroom spaces. In order to cover AISL costs, fees may apply.  For questions or to apply to use AISL facilities, please contact Martina van Vlaanderen (mvanvlaanderen@aislusaka.org).

Food service at AISL

AISL has two tuck shops; the main canteen is located on the Primary Campus, while a smaller tuck shop is located on the Secondary campus.

Both canteens are designed to provide the community with quick, healthy and tasty food throughout the school day and during events on campus. All food is prepared daily on the premises using fresh ingredients. The  menu consists of a daily hot lunch,  and a variety of snacks and beverages.
