A Message of Appreciation for Teachers from the Board of Directors

There is no doubt that the world has changed everything about how we work and parent. I am sure we’ve all learned more than we ever knew about ourselves and our children (and perhaps more than we wished we knew!). It may seem hard to believe, but we are in good company with over 90% of families in the same situation all over the world. But unlike the rest of the world, we truly are fortunate to be part of a great school that was far more prepared and well-equipped to transition to a new way of teaching and learning.

The key ingredient to our school’s success is our teachers. And everyday that we navigate distance learning with our children, I am so deeply impressed with the adaptability, professionalism, and compassion of our teachers. As parents, we know that distance learning is not easy. Teaching is not easy, whether at a distance or in the classroom. We simply cannot do this without our teachers. This is a difficult time for everyone, and yet our teachers have transitioned without missing a beat, continuing to support our children’s educational and emotional well-being. Even though we cannot visit them in the classroom, please remember they are always just a call or an email away. They want to hear from you and your children - that is why they became teachers! 

In the meantime, please enjoy this wonderful video organized by the PTA, just before our campus closure. It is a wonderful reminder from the not-so-distant past of how much we continue to appreciate our wonderful teachers at AISL.
