Did you know that AISL was founded in 1986 as a result of a diplomatic agreement between the United States Embassy and the government of Zambia? The school was originally located in Roma and moved to its current site in the early 90’s. AISL’s first graduating class was in May 2004. The Class of 2018 will be our 15th graduating class.

What I’m excited about this week…
This week, we are celebrating Kindness Week across the school. Students have been encouraged to complete kindness ‘challenges’ appropriate for their grade level as well as participate in the spirit days. This week's spirit days have focused on respect for kindness; dreaming of kindness; peace, love & kindness; and crazy for kindness. We hope to see some student-initiated action evolve from the week that will carry forward the random acts of kindness all year long. Thank you to Jenn Caldwell, Jenni Redman, and Maria Albornoz for organizing the events for the week.
As many of our Middle School students are taking part in ISSEA Choir, Band, Arts and Drama this week, we have rescheduled our Middle School Event, "Braai and Games". It will now be held a week later, Friday, 2 March 1300 - 1530. Stay tuned for more information!
Despite an unexpected gully washer doing it's best to dampen our fourth Community and Service Day, the students and teachers persevered. An enormous thanks to everyone for your quick thinking, improvisation, and efforts in making the day meaningful despite having to scrap original plans. A special thanks to Mr. Muyamwa for on the spot changes and managing difficult logistics of the day. It was clear by the wall to wall smiles that our visitors enjoyed their time at our school and working directly with our students. I am very proud of you all! ~Ty
Did you know that AISL offers highly successful personalized university placement support for our students? Last year, 100% of our graduates who applied were accepted into university. Of these, 80% were accepted by ALL the universities to which they applied. Nine of these students applied for university scholarships. Of those nine, two were awarded full scholarships and seven were awarded partial scholarships. Many thanks to our University Placement Counselor, Julie Baldry, for her efforts on behalf of our graduates.
