Thank you to the lovely group of parents who came to the MYP Parent Assessment Session on Thursday 14 November with Ms. Conte and Ms. Turner. Here is the link to the slides. We explored - what we thought we knew about MYP assessment - a rubric and took part in a learning experience - how ATLs link to assessment - how grades are arrived at - our new understandings of MYP assessment In the learning experience, two groups were asked to draw a leopard. Only one group was given the rubric. Through this activity, it became clear why a rubric enabled students to understand more clearly expectations of a task. Through clarifying expectations, students can then reach the higher criteria bands. Here are the groups’ drawings with and without a rubric. Comments are closed.
