PictureBSc (Hons) Midwifery Studies Registered Midwife
Northumbria University, UK
Anna has been accepted this week to Northumbria University to study for the highly selective Bachelor of Science with Honours in Midwifery Studies, which leads to registration as a midwife. Northumbria University is ranked 9th in Nursing & Midwifery in the UK (Guardian University League Tables 2020).

Anna is passionate about ensuring that women have a safe and life-enhancing experience during their maternity care. Building upon this course’s previous success, the new BSc (Hons) Midwifery Studies course has been developed to incorporate the future of midwifery practice whilst drawing on the essential elements of midwifery.

Approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council, graduates will leave this course as a confident midwife who is able to contribute to the care of childbearing women.

Delivered in the University’s specialised clinical skills centre, students will have access to facilities and training equipment that is at the forefront of the midwifery practice. They will also undertake a number of placements, and have the option of applying for an overseas placement in the second year of your course.

The BSc Midwifery Studies course has been designed to meet the requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) enabling graduates to apply for professional registration as a midwife on successful completion of their degree.

100% of students believe that their course has provided them with the opportunities to apply what they have learnt (NSS, 2019).
