Gonzaga University, WA, USA
Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington has accepted Owen. The University’s Jesuit liberal arts tradition, and a supportive, yet challenging community, helps students to forge their futures. At Gonzaga, students become the innovative, compassionate, and courageous people the world needs most. Artful professors and curricular inspire excellence, while encouraging welcome challenges and the pursuance of solutions to problems.
Mechanical Engineering, the degree for which Owen applied, is perhaps the most diverse of the engineering professions. It opens doors to opportunities in manufacturing, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, transportation, automotive, aerospace, power generation and many other industries. Gonzaga’s program prepares graduates for this versatility by providing a broad foundation in a variety of mathematical, scientific and engineering concepts.

Mechanical Engineering students study topics such as chemistry, physics, mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, materials, manufacturing, design, control theory, experimentation, and economics. In addition, courses and lab experiences provide practical skills in mathematical techniques and computer tools such as computer-aided design (CAD) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Undergraduates also study and practice the design process through hands-on project experiences starting in their sophomore year and extending into their senior design project. www.gonzaga.edu
