 University of Manitoba, Canada Recently, Toyosi learned that she has been accepted to study for the Bachelor of Environmental Design (BEnvD) at the University of Manitoba. The University is western Canada’s first university, established in 1877, and located on original lands of Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene peoples, and on the homeland of the Métis Nation. It is Manitoba's only research-intensive university, and one of the country’s top research institutions. The University has more than 31,000 undergraduate and graduate students, and more than 181,000 alumni living in 139 countries. The Bachelor of Environmental Design provides a solid foundation in design education. This program is for students interested in any number of design careers or those who want to pursue graduate studies within the Faculty of Architecture or in institutions around the world. It is a four-year program consisting of two years of common foundation studies, followed by two years of pre-professional intermediate studies in one of three areas of focus: Architecture; Interior Environments; and Landscape and Urbanism. www.umanitoba.ca   Eindhoven University of Technology, Netherlands Alex has been accepted to Eindhoven University of Technology to study for the Bachelor of Science in Architecture, Urbanism and Building Science. The University designs its programs on the basis that technologies are developing faster than ever and that the technological knowledge students learn today will likely become obsolete in only a few years time. Curricula are designed to help Eindhoven students become become ‘future proof’ engineers, capable of dealing with social issues now and in the future.
