This week, Jay has received his first three acceptances from universities to study for the Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering. Aerospace engineering is the primary field of engineering concerned with the design, development, testing, and production of aircraft, spacecraft, and related systems and equipment. The field has traditionally focused on problems related to atmospheric and space flight. This covers over 50% of the annual tuition fees. Illinois Institute of Technology, IL, USA Based in the global metropolis of Chicago, Illinois Tech is the only technology-focused university in the city. It offers degrees in engineering, science, architecture, business, design, human sciences, applied technology, and law. Heald Scholarship Jay has been awarded the Henry T. Heald Scholarship to attend Illinois Tech. The award is based upon Jay’s academic achievement and contributions to the school and wider community. With an additional grant for housing, the financial offers amount to approximately 40% of the total cost of attendance. Quinnipiac University, CT, USA Bernice received her first acceptance yesterday. She applied ‘undeclared’ to Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. Quinnipiac is a private, coeducational university where students engage in an educational experience that’s both personal and challenging from faculty who care deeply about student outcomes. The university offers more than 140 programs to approximately 6,800 undergraduate and 3,000 graduate students. Quinnipiac has enjoyed a distinguished history of educating students. The Princeton Review 2022 ranks Quinnipiac among its list of the 387 Best Colleges in the country. www.qu.edu Queen Mary, University of London, UK This week, Rajman learned that he has been accepted to attend Queen Mary, University of London, to read Geography. Queen Mary has a long, proud and distinctive history built on four historic institutions stretching back to 1785 and beyond. Its founding institutions are: St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical College, London Hospital Medical College, Westfield College and Queen Mary College. Today, Queen Mary is a truly global university. Its home is in London but the university also has sites in China, Malta, and Paris. Its community includes students and staff from over 160 countries around the world, which enables the university to deliver teaching and research with an international dimension and impact. www.qmul.ac.uk University of Brighton, UK Rosie now has another university to choose to attend to study to become a primary school educator: the University of Brighton.
