![]() Nightmare Horror Comedy Zone! The IB Theatre performance was superb last Thursday and there was certainly a buzz in the Theatre as it was the first live performance in 2 years. Thank you to the cast and crew, directors, and anyone involved in this production. A thoroughly enjoyable evening. ISSEA Update A few weeks ago the ISSEA schools’ Directors met in person in Addis. I attended this meeting virtually. A decision was reached regarding resuming in person ISSEA events next semester. For those concerned, here is A Letter from the ISSEA Board. If you have any questions around this, please contact our Athletics Director, Mr Mark Hoffman. Thank you PTA! A big thanks to the PTA who have purchased four picnic tables and benches, beautifully situated in the centre of the car park under a large tree. It not only looks fantastic but will prove a very useful community space. Thank you to the PTA and notably the Chair, Simon Cole, for making this happen. Learning Walks
This week I embarked upon a ‘Learning Walk’ in Secondary with Dr. Odum. It was wonderful to get into classrooms and witness the learning that is happening. I will continue to do this school wide in order to get a grasp of the AISL Curriculum Continuum and to continue to meet and get to know the student body. And to Consider The Mind of Love By Sharon Salzberg Today I love the world Last week it was a vile place, broken, beyond repair. And my mind reached out in all directions like a spider's spindly legs to mend and weave and fill the empty spaces, until falling, exhausted dangling by a single thread, discouraged and utterly humiliated that I couldn’t mend the fissures, that I ever thought I could. Today I love the world, the faces on the street the wind and chill. Pausing to look up through dark bare branches, reaching out in all directions against the vast bright blue. Soon buds and leaves will fill the empty spaces. In the mind of this love the fissures mend themselves Dr. Oli Tooher-Hancock Director American International School of Lusaka Comments are closed.
