Emergency Aid - Hannah and Julie's Appeal

30/9/2019

14-year-old orphan Burton followed his community when they took refuge in the Royal Kafue Game Ranch camp. Burton arrived in the camp with his only belongings: a bucket, a t-shirt, a pair of shorts, and makeshift shoes. The fishing community with whom he was associated were completely destitute with dwindling fish stocks yielding very little money. Last month, Headman Mutambashi (Andrew Baldry) heard of their plight and offered food and shelter in the camp he manages. 100 fisherfolk and orphans now dwell in the camp and surrounding area. Donations of sheets, blankets and clothes, and pledges from overseas donors of money to educate the orphans and other children have been made, but this community needs more immediate emergency aid.

AISL Alumnae Hannah, and Ms. Julie Ann Baldry, are requesting that the AISL community assist by donating clothes, shoes, blankets, children’s books, non-perishable food stuffs, toiletries, and over-the-counter medical supplies to this desperate community. There are labeled donation containers at the Primary and Secondary School waiting huts where you can place your donations.

Your generosity will be much appreciated.
