From the Director

Dear AISL Community,
The first week back has been very quiet in school but also productive and, although on a virtual platform, school learning has begun in earnest. We are looking forward to all of the students being back again on Monday.
Vaccinations
As mentioned in the communique earlier in the week, we are working in collaboration with a local clinic who will come into school to vaccinate our 12+ students for those who wish to utilize this service. Please check the secondary school communication for further details.
Update on COVID Protocols
On Wednesday, the COVID Task Force met to discuss the revision of our current Guidelines. Here is the outcome of our discussion, which is on our website: Revised AISL Guidelines
We agreed on protocols for three categories:

• A confirmed COVID case
• Close contact with COVID confirmed case
• Post-international travel

According to the new guidelines, it will be five days in isolation for the close contacts, meaning a maximum of one school week should that happen on a Monday. Otherwise, the weekend will encompass some of those five days, lowering the number of online days. We are cautiously optimistic that as numbers are decreasing in Lusaka currently, that school will be in person for the entire semester with as little disruption to in-person learning as possible.
