What I am excited about this week!

IB Diploma Exams! Please join me in wishing the Grade 12 students good luck on their IB Diploma exams, which start tomorrow. These exams are an opportunity for the students to demonstrate their learning across the two-year program. Many thanks to all our talented teachers who helped the students get to this point. Good luck seniors!

Better Together! We were thrilled to hold our annual WorldFest! celebration today. Although circumstances demanded that it look a bit different from previous years, we did not want to let pass this opportunity to celebrate our diversity - the fact that we all come from different places and different backgrounds – as well as our unity. For 35 years, this school has been committed to helping young people and adults from around the world become global citizens, committed to leadership and service. Despite the fact that we come from more than fifty different countries, we are all dedicated to working and learning together in hopes of making the world a better place to live for all people. We chose this year’s theme, Better Together, to honor this important work.

You might enjoy this video of today’s flag parade. What a beautiful visual reminder of just how diverse we are as a community.

Many thanks to the WorldFest! planning committee for their hard work in making this happen. Thank you also to the PTA for their generous and delicious donations to the International Food Festival and the parents who came to share cultural activities or information about their country’s cuisine. Most people do not realize how many people are required and how much work has to happen behind the scenes to create such a memorable event. This is the kind of teamwork I love in this community. We are truly better together!
