What I am excited about this week…
Book Fair! Don’t forget that there will be a book fair at tomorrow’s Friday Market. Penguin Random House will have a large collection of books on sale for all ages – including adults! Last year’s fair was a huge success. Please note that sales are cash only. Community Choir! Please come join our community choir. It’s a great way to meet people, have fun, and even enjoy health benefits! The choir meets on Wednesdays from 16:30 and 18:00, in Sausage Tree 2 (near the Primary Waiting Hut). Come when you can, whether for the full rehearsal or just 30 minutes. No experience necessary, just a willingness to share your voice in the community! Parent-Teacher Conferences! Please come check in with your child’s teachers on Wednesday and Thursday, 9 and 10 October. See the Primary School and Secondary School sections later in this newsletter for more information. Please remember that classes end at noon on both days and there will be no ASA’s. We look forward to your visit. CIS University Fair! We are pleased to once again host the Council of International Schools (CIS) University Fair at AISL on 9 October. This will include representatives from at least fourteen universities from around the world. You can learn more later in this newsletter. Zambia Day! On Friday, 11 October, students and staff will participate in our annual Zambia Day events to celebrate our beloved host country. Please encourage your child(ren) to wear Zambia’s national colors. ISAZ Events! Good luck to our Leopards as they compete in a variety of ISAZ events this weekend. Our Division 1 swimmers will be at Baobab on Friday and the Division 3 gala will be here at AISL, beginning around 13:00. Our U13 and U19 Chess players will be at a tournament at Mary Queen of Peace and our U14 and U19 Basketball teams will be playing at the ISAZ qualifiers at ISL. Please come out and cheer on our teams. Go Leopards! Vacation! School will be closed for our mid-term break during the week of 14 October. I hope that everyone enjoys their well-deserved vacation.
