What I am excited about this week… Campus Improvement Project Progress! I am thrilled to report that the next phase of our campus improvement project has been completed. We have opened our newly renovated Grades 4 & 5 classrooms and the Administration Building. We also finished the renovation of the main Primary School walkway and the Theater walkway. Please come take a look; I know you will be impressed. Administrative Offices Have Relocated! We have now returned the Director’s Office, Business Office, Admissions Office, and Reception to the newly renovated Administration Building. Access to these offices is from the walkway between the Tiyende Pamodzi Theater and the Admin Building. If you wish to come visit, you may want to park in the Secondary School parking lot to shorten your walk. Making Thinking Visible! Our faculty spent Monday and Tuesday in workshops with Mark Church from Harvard’s Project Zero. This two-day workshop on the Making Thinking Visible initiative focused on strategies teachers can use to inspire critical thinking and questioning habits in their students. These methods are used in high-quality international schools around the world and are another great example of AISL’s serious approach to its teachers’ professional development. ISSEA Band and Choir Hosting! From 20-22 February, AISL will be hosting the ISSEA Band and Choir Festival. This is a great honor for us and a wonderful opportunity to show off our impressive music program. This is the largest ISSEA event in terms of participants and will stretch our hosting abilities to their limits. To support this great event, please consider hosting two or more visiting students at your home. We still need 55 beds! Many thanks to all those families who have already signed on. Please contact the Activities Department ([email protected]) to volunteer or to ask questions. Thank you for considering hosting some of our ISSEA guests. Comments are closed.
