Dear AISL Community, Update on Safeguarding and Student Voice at AISL Thank you to all who attended the Safeguarding Update at AISL on Tuesday. It was a well-attended in-person event. Here is the link Student Portrait Photos This year we are printing 'Student Portrait Photo' packs on a per order basis. For orders and more information please click here. If you have any questions please email Janke at [email protected]. Whole Community Song for World Fest Day - A Song of Peace Our World Fest Committee came up with the idea of having a community song at the whole school assembly on World Fest Day. All are invited to this event and we ask that you learn and join in on the refrain (chorus). Here is the link for you to get familiar with it. Wonderful community spirit activity. Details of the day will follow in the Leopard’s Tale of 21 April. Please note that World Fest Day will be an early dismissal of 12.30 as we head into the extended Labor Day holiday. The AISL Board’s Election General Meeting (EGM) Board elections will be coming up in May. A detailed letter about this will be sent out next week from the AISL Board. The Leopard is Back in Town! After a 2 year reprieve the AISL Mascot made its first appearance at a swim gala on Saturday. There was great excitement as the Leopard proudly paraded poolside enhancing the already electric atmosphere. You will be seeing more of the Leopard in varying locations in the coming weeks. GoooooooooooLeopards. And speaking of which, our ISSEA Basketballers left on Wednesday, headed to Kenya for the final sanctioned tournament of the school year. This time last year, we were sure there would be no in-person meets, but have been most fortunate to be able to attend the three events decided by the ISSEA Board earlier this year. We wish them all the best with a great attitude on and off the court of play! If you wish to watch: https://issea.isk.ac.ke/livestream Personal Project Showcase Last night the largest gathering in the Pavilion for two years occurred. It was an incredible event as our Grade 10s (MYP 5) showcased the culmination of five years of developing high levels of competency and deep conceptual understanding. The students were articulate and passionate about their projects and it was simply joyful to witness. There was a great turnout of parents too. Thank you everyone for making this a very special event. Next up — PYPX! A heads up. Next week there will be no Leopard’s Tale as we are on holiday. The LT will resume on Thursday 21 April. Hope to see many of you at the Friday Market tomorrow. Hard to believe it is already two weeks since the last one. And to finish, the very cutest of things, but also talented are the clay animals our early learners made, as one boy said 'all my own'. This was an integrated component of their Sharing the Planet unit. Just wonderful. With kind regards,
