Dear Primary Parents, Firstly, we would like to start by saying thank-you for all of your support and engagement during this first week of distance learning. We recognize that this is a transition for families, students and teachers so flexibility and finding a routine are especially important right now. At this early stage, there are two messages we want to reiterate: 1. We are here as a teaching and learning community to support in whatever way we can. This means that all teachers and the Primary Leadership Team are an email, phone call, or Seesaw post away ready to answer questions, make any needed adjustments, and to stay connected as a community. Below are a few images from our students engaged in Week 1. Thank you, Yaxiao, for keeping up your physical fitness with Ms. Kate. Well done, Kianna, for being creative with your living things collage with Ms Leslie. Well done, Jesse, for showing how to add groups of 10 with Ms Bridget. 2. We are striving to balance the delivery of a holistic, rigorous program, balancing the academic and the socio-emotional, while remaining sensitive to each family's unique situation (i.e. difference in time zone, travel dates, a household with multiple siblings, working parents, etc.). In order to know how we might be able to balance this even better, please share your feedback with us. We welcome your perspective as a family. A final note to remember is that the learning engagements posted from each of your child's teachers are meant to be completed across a week. Many teachers will post these Sunday evening so that you can plan the week ahead. Your child's teacher may have shared a sample planning sheet to help balance the learning across the week. You may choose to use that sample or one of the plans attached to this article. Again, please find something that works for your child and your family.
Some of you may have access to a printer and will want to have paper copies available to work with. For others who do not have access to a printer, your child knows how to upload a .pdf or .jpg to Seesaw and annotate it on their iPad.
Sincerely, Darlene Huson, Primary Principal Tony Potts, Primary Assistant Principal Christine Kelly, Primary Assistant Principal Comments are closed.
