Kafue Fisherfolk - Appeal for Emergency Relief

13/11/2019

Dear Donors from the American International School of Lusaka,

I am writing from the Kafue river, which until recently was a place of destitution and misery for the traditional fisherfolk, including the disadvantaged children and women.

The support and donations of clothes, bedding, and other emergency supplies from the AISL community has made such a wonderful impact upon the lives and well-being of the fisherfolk. They have also received donations from across the globe in response to their plight. Now we have a sponsor who will finance education for 35 children under a perpetual fund. In addition, we have received further donations of shoes and clothes for the orphans and other pledges of support. My company, Royal Kafue, has provided shelter, relief food, and fertilizer.

When you have nothing anything and everything makes a difference.

This community, which was teetering on collapse, now has some hope and they thank the donors from the American International School of Lusaka for their kindness and generosity. Today the riverbank is alive with song and the children cling to clothes that they can call their own.

Once again many thanks,
Headman Mutambashi (Andrew Baldry)

Further donations are welcomed and can be deposited at the Primary and Secondary waiting huts.
