Did you know that the AISL Board of Directors is the governing body of the school and serves as the guardian of the school's mission and vision? It is the board's responsibility to ensure that the mission is relevant and vital to the community it serves and to monitor the success of the school in fulfilling its mission.
According to the school’s Articles of Association, the US Ambassador to Zambia appoints two of the seven Board members, and one of those appointed Board members will also serve as the Chair of the Board. The five remaining board members are elected by the AISL Parent Association, which is composed of all parents and registered legal guardians of students who are enrolled at AISL. Of these five board members, two must be affiliated with the US Government, and the other three are elected from the general parent community. Elected board members serve for two years and are eligible for re-election. You can learn more about the board, read the Board Policy Manual, and view minutes and/or recordings of previous meetings on the AISL Parent Portal. Three board members will be ending their terms at the end of the school year so we are looking for volunteers to fill these vacancies. There will be one vacancy to be filled by appointment from the U.S. Ambassador and two vacancies that will be up for election. One of these elected vacancies is for a parent who is affiliated with the U.S. government (employee or spouse) and the other is open to any school parent. The election will be held at our virtual annual EGM (Election General Meeting) on 21 April. Please consider nominating yourself or someone you know. Nominees must submit an updated CV and a one or two paragraph biographical statement for the Leopard’s Tale no later than 6 April. Additionally, two other association members must support your nomination (via email). The election will be held at our virtual annual EGM (Election General Meeting) on 21 April. Please send nominations or questions to [email protected]. Comments are closed.
