Dear parents,
Starting off the week with Valentine’s Day definitely kicked off spirit week right! I want to thank all the students, and their supportive parents of course, who participated in Spirit/Kindness week this semester. I am sure that it was strange to send your kids off to school in their PJs, but, on the other hand, it should have at least saved some time. As always, I want to appreciate our teachers. We are entering a strange period of the year. The March break inches closer and maintaining a high level of rigor in classes takes constant vigilance, particularly as kids sometimes lose focus when a vacation nears. But, learning how to produce high quality work in the face of distraction and anticipation of other activities is a life skill, and as Marcus Aurelius wrote, “Mastery of reading and writing requires a master, so much more life.” Meaning that our role as teachers and parents is not simply to pass on our knowledge and skills, but also to model how high functioning adults should behave. Reminder that this coming week on the 22nd, we have an assembly which will feature a performance from our awesome Leopard Choir if you would like to view the assembly please join us HERE If you missed last week’s Secondary Assembly HERE is the link. ALSO, we have some AISL sports going on this weekend as our Volleyball team travels to Tanzania to play in an ISSEA tournament. If you want to follow the action live, head over to the following link: ISSEA VOLLEYBALL WEBSITE & LIVESTREAM Have a wonderful weekend! Dr. Rick Odum Comments are closed.
