Weekly Update from the Secondary School

Dear Parents, 

Welcome back! After such a long break, and so many adventures, I am ready to get back to the wonderful business of learning. 

We have so many things coming up to get excited about. These first weeks feature kids singing in Kenya, yearbook photos, Rugby, Swimming, Netball  and Basketball. Along with all this, our grade 12s are in the home stretch for IB exams and graduation. Suffice to say it is an extremely exciting time. 

This past week I have received a couple of questions about reporting from parents concerned that they had not yet received their child’s reports for Q2. The reports will go out on the 27th and the reason for this was to allow the maximum time for teaching, learning and assessing in Semester 1, as it was shorter than Semester 2, By pushing the reporting deadline to the beginning of this calendar year, we were able to have assessments later in the first semester, and so allow students every opportunity to demonstrate their learning. 

This, as with all decisions we make, was decided from a position of giving the students the best chance of success.
