Circus Soiree The PTA event was a huge success and was a really fun, enjoyable evening. Thank you to everyone who supported this fundraising and community building event. We had over 170+ people in attendance. And thank you to the PTA organizing committee: Stephanie, Miyuki, John S, Lizzie, Dan, Carlos, Josephine, Fiona and Sarah for organizing the event and setting the scene so beautifully. A shout out to Stephen Bickers for being the brave soul to ‘offer’ to be the emcee for the evening. He did a superb job - a big ask for a Friday night! He and Fungai did great as auctioneers and over $2,000 was raised in the Live Auction alone. ISSEA The final ISSEAs of this school year are this week. On Tuesday evening, golf headed to IS Kenya, and football to ICS Addis; and on Saturday, tennis will leave for AIS Mozambique. We wish them all a successful tournament as well as safe and timely travels. STEAM This morning was the opening ceremony of ISSEA STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics), hosted here on campus, with over 100 students from 8 ISSEA schools participating. There was a wonderful atmosphere in the PAC and along with our choir, 8th grade band and Poet Laureate Sophie, Circus Zambia performed a section of Afronauts much to the delight of the audience. What a treat! STEAM is interdisciplinary learning at its best. We are delighted to have much better facilities than last year, but this is only the first phase in what the STEAM teachers are imagining for future learning. Good luck to all involved. SOAR Presentation and Strategy Update We will be presenting the results of the SOAR Survey this coming Tuesday, 16 April, at both 7.30am and 17.00 in the Protea Room. If you would like to attend, and haven’t yet signed up, please do so here. Light refreshments will be served. End of Ramadan This week sees the end of Ramadan with Eid al-Fitr. For all in our community who celebrate, we wish you a lovely time with family and friends. Student-Led Initiatives Service Learning Triathlon - Save the Date On 5 May, two 11th graders, Melisa and Mapsy, will be hosting a Triathlon at AISL. This is a CAS project. More information will be out in the weeks to come.
