A special mention goes to the parents of Musikili School, that brought their school spirit all the way from Mazabuka! Way to Go #AISLleopards!! SwimmingWe also had our second and last Junior gala of the season on February 18. It poured for a good half hour, and for a while there we thought we were going to have to cancel it. But the universe realised how much Covid had taken away, so the weather improved and the sun shone! All the schools invited showed up and it was absolutely wonderful to see so many parents also show support for the event. It went extremely well and quick, and excitement built when we announced that scores were going to be tallied with the ones from the first junior gala. And the awards and winners were as follows:
Goooooo Leopards! #aislleopards BASKETBALLWe announced the basketball tryouts the past week and it was wonderful to see students pop into the office inquiring about which days they could come and play. Boys had Monday and Wednesday to try out and the girls had Tuesday and Thursday.
We were excited to see plenty of students and we hope the teams will be a force to reckon with at ISSEA! GOOOOOOOOOOOOO LEOPARDS!! Congratulations to Chris for taking first place in the U19 individual competition. Well done Leopards! Last week on Friday 14th May, AISL hosted our first U13 Doubles Tournament against Muskili school.
The fun continued on Saturday 15 May for the U13 singles tournament against Musikili school once again. We are super proud of our U13 leopards who played extremely well despite the heat Thank you to all our participants who did an amazing job and a big congratulations to Filip, who took first place in the U13 Boys Singles Tournament . Go Leopards! Last week on Friday 14th May, AISL hosted the first invitational golf tournament this academic year at Bonanza Golf Club. Golfers competed in pairs, playing the“greensome” format. Each player had to drive a ball and the pair then chose which ball to play. Each pair of golfers played three holes against all the other pairs in their age group, which was either U13 or U19. A point was gained for winning a hole, half a point for a drawn hole and no point for a loss. It was fabulous to be able to watch the live sport as two Musikili golfers competed in the U13 competition along with six Martin House golfers, while AISL had four U13 golfers, Neel partnered with Anay and Caleb partnered with Mubanga. Well done to all the U13 and U19 golfers as it was a hot day but they all managed to pull through. There was some very good golf played in both age groups. AISL had six U19 golfers, Neelay and Rohan, Scott and Cross, Ashu and Lovis competing against each other and the two teams from Martin House, Shivam and JP along with Justin and Rory. The AISL golfers are looking forward to the restart of school in August and more golf competitions.
