The American International School of Lusaka (AISL) offers two scholarship programs Merit-Based scholarship and The Beacon Scholarship.
Our scholarship programs are designed to provide highly capable and motivated Zambian students with an opportunity to attend AISL and earn an American High School Diploma, as well as pursue the prestigious International Baccalaureate Middle Years and Diploma Programmes. Ambassador’s Merit-Based Scholarship ProgrammeAISL merit scholar students will be expected to perform at a very high level academically and to participate in a comprehensive extra-curricular programme.
AISL will provide merit scholar students with full AISL tuition fees, school supplies including an iPad/Laptop and home Internet bundle, all examination and university application fees, university and scholarship guidance, transport to and from school, and opportunities to participate in fully-funded school-sponsored trips in Zambia and overseas*. The scholarship does not include boarding, housing, or financial assistance after leaving the school or beyond that stipulated in the scholarship contract. |

To qualify for the scholarship for 2022-2023, a child must be:
✓ a Zambian citizen; ✓ an outstanding student who is expecting to achieve excellent results on the Gr. 9 Junior Secondary School Leaving Examinations (JSSLE) or equivalent; ✓ able to show evidence of leadership and a commitment to the arts, sports, and/or community service; ✓ a resident of Lusaka or have a home in which to reside in Lusaka; ✓ born between 1 August 2007 and 31 July 2008. Applicants will be expected to complete and submit the AISL Scholarship Application forms, assignments, and requested documentation. They can be hand delivered to the Secondary gate at the American International School of Lusaka, or emailed to scholarship@aislusaka.org by Friday, 26 February 2021. ![]()

The Beacon Scholarship: developing future leadersWe are pleased to also offer The Beacon Scholarship at AISL for students with strong leadership qualities.
The Beacon Scholarship is a change-maker programme that offers access for financially disadvantaged students to top tier secondary schools in their home country, and undergraduate programmes of study at world class universities in the UK. The programme includes leadership training and development, a strong Mentoring structure, and a goal-setting performance management system. All applicants must be able to demonstrate that they are ‘Change-makers’ i.e.

Since its inception in 2013, AISL has selected sixteen recipients of the scholarship and, out of the eight merit scholars who have graduated from AISL, five have received full scholarships to attend American universities.
