Due to distance learning, coaches from our different sports and activities have been working hard to find new ways to share their tips. This week, our coaches are excited to be bringing ASA’s directly to your home through the videos posted below!

This week on Monday 31st August, we started our After School Activities program for grade 7, grade 9 and grade 12.
Below are photos of various photos of students being taught skills by our AISL Coaches On Monday, we hosted a professional development workshop in the Palm Pavilion. We covered various topics ranging from COVID-19 procedures, Child Protection policy, sexual harassment policy and Security, Health & Safety procedures. A big thank you to our presenters Dr. Menard, Mr. Hoffman, Ms. Van Vlaanderen, Ms. Baldry, and Mr. Mvula. Non - returning students please contact Christine from the Activities Office to make an appointment by sending an email to: (activities@aislusaka.org) The hard copy certificates & medals can be collected at the Activity Office in August for returning students. All students that participated in LISL, ISAZ or ISSEA tournaments have been recognized with a medal. Thank you very much for the support and we look forward to seeing you in August. Congratulations to all our leopards! Non-returning students please contact Christine from the Activity Office by email (activities@aislusaka.org) to make an appointment when to collect. We would like to introduce the faces behind our amazing AISL sports teams. This week it's our Rugby and Track & Field Coaches - read below to find out more.. Name: Edward Chow-Worn Home Town: Nakuru, Kenya Years at AISL : 4 Coach/Player History: Edward played rugby from the age of 8 and his highest level was team school wing and country selection Oxfordshire in the UK. He also competed in track and field from school level to county level, running 100m and 200m sprints for Oxfordshire and Thames Valley in the UK. Before coming to AISL, he coached rugby and track & field while at university and also at international schools in South America. Coach Edward will be greatly missed as he had a great way with the students and we wish him well as he leaves for Germany. Name: Sheleni Michello Home Town: Lusaka, Zambia Years at AISL : 1 Coach/Player History: Mich is currently coaching at AISL and at the Lusaka Youth Rugby Academy. He is also the Assistant Coach for Lusaka Powerhouse Rugby team and is still active in playing for the National Rugby team 15’s and 7’s. Name: Nathan Chilton Home Town: Christchurch, New Zealand Years at AISL : 2 Coach/Player History: Nathan played Senior Division 1 (15 aside rugby) while growing up in Christchurch. He has also coached a number of sports throughout his career including; rugby, basketball and cricket. Before coming to AISL, he had previously worked in New Zealand and in China. Name: Sydney Mushipi Home Town: Ndola, Zambia Years at AISL : 4Coach/Player History: Sydney is currently coaching at AISL, Green Buffalo’s Athletics club and is the Head Track Coach at OYDC as well as the Chief coach for the Zambian National Athletics team. He has done his training in Germany, Kenya and South Korea. Coach Sydney was Zambia National team sprinter for 11 years in the 100m & 200m and has a passion to take athletes to the youth of Zambia. Name: Wikus Swanepoel Home Town: Lichtenburg, South Africa Years at AISL : 3 Coach/Player History: Wikus was an athlete his entire primary and secondary school career, where he specialised in long jump and high jump, but also did triple jump and 400 hurdles. He coached touch rugby in Myanmar before coming to AISL where he has been an instrumental in helping build our track and field program. |
