AISL School Fees for 2018-19

26/4/2018

The AISL Board of Directors approved the operational budget and school fees for the 2018-19 school year. The approval of the operational budget was the culmination of a lengthy review and consultation process grounded in the following principles.

The AISL Budget reflects a commitment to:
  • responsible financial management aimed at offering significant value for money;
  • AISL’s mission, vision, values, and strategic goals;
  • the highest quality curricular and extracurricular programs in Zambia, on par with international schools around the world;
  • a highly qualified professional staff;
  • a low student-teacher ratio;
  • continuous improvement of teaching and learning;
  • robust student support services;
  • world class facilities, technology infrastructure, and educational resources.

Throughout the process, the Board strove to keep any necessary tuition increases as low as possible. Through careful and targeted budget management, the Board and Administration will continue to significantly improve our programs while keeping costs as low as possible. As a result, tuition changes for next year are as follows:
  • Early Learning Center: tuition set at $6000/year
  • Kindergarten through Grade 5: tuition set at $16,430 (increased by 2.5% or $400)
  • Grades 6-10: tuition set at $18,400 (increased by 2.5% or $460)
  • Grades 11-12: tuition set at $20,930 (increased by 2.4% or $500)
The Board also routinely reviews the status of AISL’s capital reserves and capital budget to support infrastructure improvements that will support the school’s mission. To this end, the Board increased the one-time admission fee for 2018-19 by $500 to $7000 and voted for no change in the annual capital levy.
