If you feel like you missed out, mark your calendars for next years AISL Ski Trip...!
Hello AISL Parents! The secondary science department would like to host a career fair for secondary students to learn about jobs in the sciences. We are planning to host this event in May during a one-hour block in the morning (more details to come). You would only need to share a bit about your work for about 5 minutes, followed by 10 minutes for question & answer, and then a new group of students would visit your station (students may choose 3 different stations to visit). If you would be willing to be a part of this, please email Terry Maguire, Secondary Librarian: tmaguire@aislusaka.org. We are always deeply grateful to our parent community for the rich expertise you so readily share with our students! This April in addition to celebrating WorldFest! on Friday 20 April we are also celebrating Poetry Month by hosting a wide array of special poetry-based activities in the library next Tuesday & Wednesday for students in all grade levels. We would also like to create an AISL community poem called "Home is.." by inviting everyone in our AISL community to add a line or two (or three or four!) in any language to our giant poem that begins with the prompt "Home is.." For many of us, home can be many places not limited to the country on our passport(s). Let's see what we create when we all share our own ideas about home. Moms and Dads can also help the little ones add their ideas if they are too young to write. The giant piece of paper for this poem will be available in the library this Thursday (12 April) through next Thursday (19 April) and will be displayed during WorldFest!. Our last coffee houses of the school year (making six total for the year!) will be on the following days and times: Middle School (Grades 6-8) Coffee House: Thursday 19 April 8.30-9:30 in The Zone. Upper Secondary (Grades 9-12) Coffee House: Friday 27 April 19.00-20.30 in The Library. The coffee houses provide students with a fantastic opportunity to be risk-takers in sharing their creativity in many forms including dance, song, rap, poetry, stand-up comedy, and more.
