Steven Spielberg's long-awaited film adaptation of Ernest Cline's action-packed young adult novel Ready Player One (originally published 2011) is now showing at Manda Hill. Our secondary librarian, Terry Maguire, together with other teachers who love the book will be at the 17.45 showing this Thursday night, April 12 (in the Premier Theatre if playing in there, otherwise in the main theater). The running time is 140 minutes and for a review of the film check out the Common Sense Media's write-up here. The movie rating is PG13 & it's generally recommended for ages 12 and up, though each family will want to make its own decisions. The book & movie have fabulous 1980's music & pop culture references that are accessible for students but super-fun for those of us who lived through that decade! This is an exciting adventure set in the dystopian world of the USA in 2045 & the visually stunning virtual world called The Oasis. Please consider coming to see this with your son or daughter (note: this is not a formally supervised activity).
