His application to study for the Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management with Flight at Florida Institute of Technology was successful. This degree combines the academic coursework of a degree in aviation management with Florida Tech’s world-renowned flight training. The degree provides a comprehensive background in aviation studies, management, and business, preparing students for careers in areas such as that of a professional pilot or airport consultant, and working in airline management, aircraft manufacturing, and more. Students in this program develop a strong background in aviation and build experience in modern aeronautical technology and flight operations. With the aviation management with flight program degree, students begin major-related courses in their first semester at Florida Tech, including the basics of aviation, science, math, and weather. A diverse fleet of high-tech aircraft and world-class facilities at nearby Melbourne International Airport, ten minutes from campus, help make Florida Tech a top-notch flight university. Second- and third-year students learn about the FAA, air traffic, and the national airspace system, as well as the fundamentals of aircraft flight dynamics. In addition, students may fly the desktop simulator in the Basic Aviation Training Device (BAT-D) computer Lab. In their final years at Florida Tech, students complete advanced course work in air transportation management and atmospheric dynamics, and meet recruiters from major airlines at university career fairs. Flight-option majors can obtain a FAA Dispatcher Certificate and work as an airline or corporate dispatcher. Flight instructor ground and flight courses can be taken as electives with any aviation management with flight program degree.
