Lake Superior State University, MI
With a passion for sports and academic achievement through the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, Lanaya has received her first acceptance. This is to major in Kinesiology at Lake Superior State University in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan.
LSSU is a personal, small-town university that provides a superior blend of liberal and technical studies in the natural setting of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
Sault Saint Marie, founded in 1668, shares its international border with Sault Sainte Marie, Ontario. The two cities combine the advantages of a larger city with the safety and comfort of a smaller town. Between both, the population is about 100,000. The 115-acre campus is situated on the site of the former U.S. Army’s Fort Brady, and fourteen of LSSU’s buildings are listed on various historic registers, creating a unique campus environment. Also, the campus overlooks the St. Mary’s River, and the Soo Locks, the busiest locks in the world.
The Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology prepares students for a wide range of opportunities. Options range across the fields of clinical health sciences, sport management, health and fitness, as well as many other occupations associated with physical activity and health. Students can customize their program of study. Using a core curriculum, they then choose from LSSU’s exciting concentrations in Rehabilitation Sciences, Human Performance, or Sport and Fitness Management to set the path that is the best for the student.
The Leopard's Tale is our main medium to keep our families informed on such things as the day to day happenings on campus, after school activities, summaries of any arts and sports events, helpful resources, and important dates and reminders.
