Community Service Day at AISL

The entire secondary school participated in this year's first Community Service Day (CSD) on Friday. CSD is a day when we pause the academic learning and turn our focus to giving back to the community. Every AISL student takes part in an activity, which is led by two or three student leaders. Some community groups provide service to the AISL community, such as Green Team and Art on Campus. Other groups, such as Baskets and Swim with Tim, provide opportunities to children from Open Arms, a Zambian school on Leopards Hill Road. 135 students from Open Arms come to AISL for the CSD to learn and engage with AISL students. After each CSD, the Leopards Tale will highlight a service group.
Feed the People, led by Eloise and Deb, is a group focused on feeding the students who come from Open Arms. This past week, they made more than 145 sandwiches to share with our guests. Feed the People hold fund raiser and bake sales to raise money to buy sandwich-making supplies.
