![]() In an effort to promote empathy, understanding, and cultural heritage, the library will be holding an all-day event for Primary classes on 13 December. The goal is to expand the holiday section of the library to reflect the diversity of our community while bringing us together. On that day in the library, there will be spaces where different cultural groups may choose to share about a particular holiday or celebration that occurs between July and December. For example, if we have several families that celebrate Hanukkah, they could get together to create a station that teaches us about that celebration. Stations could be facilitated by the parents for a time that works for them or set up as an independent station without supervision. To start simple, a station could include books, pictures, stories, games, music, or a simple activity that explains and showcases the celebration. The aim after the initial launch on 13 December is to reflect and improve on this project to make it grow! If you have a holiday or celebration that you and other parents may be interested in sharing, please contact your classroom PTA Liaison or the PTA at pta@aislusaka.org for more details.
