CAS evidence, completion, and interview!

19/2/2019

The Class of 2019 students have created and documented some exceptional experiences as a part of the Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS) programme at AISL.
Yunfei, for example, started keeping a bullet journal to organize events in her life. This meets "creativity". She documented her daily events and shared evidence by uploading screenshots to ManageBac.

Nchimunya volunteered his time in service of a friend who needed photographs for an upcoming promotion of a music album. Nchimunya shared photos of this "creativity" and "service" on the Reflections and Evidence page of ManageBac as well.
Lastly, Sean documented an on-going service project he leads, the Community Service Day (CSD) activity, Basketz. Sean reflected on his "activity" and "service" by describing what it was like to lead a group of students when his two co-leaders weren't there.

The CAS programme is a Core requirement for all AISL students. The final step in completing CAS requirements is engaging in a formal exit interview with Dr. Mulazzi. Students are invited to reflect on their learning throughout the 18 months of engagement in CAS. One interview question elicited a variety of responses: What did you most enjoy about CAS? Student answers were:
"I learned that I am a leader."
"I loved that I could play soccer and be completing CAS requirements at the same time!" and
"Completing the CAS requirements helped me to be more balanced. Sometimes I didn't want to focus on schoolwork so I could take photographs for my CAS project instead!"
