The Extended Essay is a core component of the IB Diploma. Students engage in an extensive research project over the course of six to eight months, an in-depth inquiry developed around a student's own research question. The extended essays are 4,000 word essays and represent months of individual work. To celebrate the completion of the Extended Essay, and to publicly share the research findings, AISL is hosting an EE Presentation, Celebration, and Light Lunch on Thursday, December 14th, from 12:15pm to 1:20pm.
From 12:25 to 12:55, each grade 12 student will present the major findings of their Extended Essays to small audiences. The presentations will take place in four venues (Mr. Menard's office, the Library Conference Room, Ms. Natalie's Primary Drama classroom, and Mr. Redman's Secondary Drama classroom). The intended audiences for this event are grade 12 parents, grade 12 EE supervisors, grade 12 teachers, and also grade 11 students. You can find the final schedule HERE. At 1:00pm, students, teachers, and their parents can proceed to the PAC Gallery for a celebration lunch of light snacks, coffee, and desserts. The EE Presentation and Celebration is a new tradition at AISL, continuing with the practice of a public MYP Personal Project Exposition and Celebration. Thank you in advance for your support of and attendance at this event! There is a lot to celebrate!
