Last Thursday, the Class of 2020 spent the day in the Diploma Programme Retreat, working with a number of AISL teachers and staff, preparing for the next 20 months of their academic lives. It takes a village to help the students to cross the DP finish line! Ms. Clare Cullen modelled stress reduction techniques of yogic poses and meditative breathing. Mrs. Julie Baldry and Ms. Francesca Mulazzi shared specific strategies for time management and stress coping skills. Mrs. Terry Maguire taught the students how to make notes instead of just "taking" notes. Note making skills are integral to processing the large amount of content and reading the student will face in the DP. Mr. Tony Potts taught the students how to use Google Suite tools such as Calendar and Tasks to keep track of their assignments and due dates. In addition, Mrs Baldry led an orientation session to BridgeU, a new platform for progression to college. It is a comprehensive platform that enables students to navigate career progression, and is fully integrated with Managebac. For more information go to https://bridge-u.com/.
