What does a Reflective CAS student do?

DP students have been engaging in conversations about reflection, the purpose of reflection, and the role of reflection in the Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS) programme.

Reflection in CAS can be a recorded voice note, describing how a student felt after working with students on a CSD day. It could also be a journal entry brainstorming ways to further engage with local collaborative partners in an after school dance activity. In addition, reflection could take the form of photos or videos of a fundraiser that a student participated in to raise money for Prom.
Through reflection, students:
* examine relevance of experiences,
* apply thoughts and ideas to different situations, 
* consider their actions among others' actions,
* remind themselves of what was learned, how it occurred, and how it can be applied to future opportunities, and
*consider deliberate ways to improve individual and collective actions.
The ultimate purpose of reflecting in CAS is not to complete “a reflection;" it is to become reflective by choice and as a lifelong process.
