For everyone bringing food for our WorldFest! celebration...

26/4/2017

Worldfest! 2017 is on Friday, April 28! Here are some details of the International Food Festival that will help with organization.

We will have the Food Festival set up on the lower field - near the Primary Tuck Shop. There will be three tents with tables underneath. The PTA will have signs indicating the different regions we are representing. You are welcome to begin setting up anytime after drop off.

The Protea Room will be open to use to hold food or anything else you might need. Please note that there will NOT be a refrigerator available, so please prepare to keep your food cold or hot as needed. Since we will be set up on the field, there will be no electricity there either, but it will be available in the Protea Room.

We will have PTA members at both the Primary and Secondary Waiting Huts to collect food if you are simply dropping off. PLEASE be sure to have your food item clearly marked. If your dish contains NUTS of any type or NUT FLOUR, please be sure to indicate this clearly. We do have children with allergies and we need to know which foods they should avoid. In addition, if your contribution is GLUTEN-FREE, please indicate that as well. We will do our best to have these options available for our students who are gluten free.  In addition, it would be best to have your contribution in a disposable container - that way we won't lose any treasured serving pieces.

If you plan to stay and help out at your table, you are free to use whatever decorative serving dishes you please! Also feel free to decorate your table in any way that represents your home country. Plates and napkins ONLY are provided by the school and PTA. If your dish requires utensils, you will need to provide these items. We also ask that you provide any necessary serving utensils.

The Food Fair will begin at approximately 11 AM and run through about 1 PM. ALL TABLES SHOULD BE PREPARED TO BEGIN SERVING STUDENTS AT
11 AM. Classes will come in groups starting with Kindergarten. Secondary students, beginning with the Middle School, are expected to begin arriving at about 12:00.

We will be feeding over 600 people, so please keep that in mind as you prepare your tables. Items can be cut into small serving sizes to allow for as many servings as possible. We are trying to give the students a "taste" from around the world! In addition, we want to have food throughout the 2 hour Food Fair, so plan accordingly.

Finally, please encourage others to continue to sign up. We would love to have as many families and cultures represented as possible!

Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions. You can send me an email at cmkrafft@yahoo.com.

Mary Krafft, PTA
