What I am excited about this week…

.A smooth start! The new school year got off to a smooth start on Tuesday. We welcomed more than one hundred new students and eight new teachers to the AISL community. It was fun to walk around the school and see the excitement that teachers, teaching assistants, admin staff, support staff, parents, AND students all brought to the day. The school was abuzz with everyone catching up with old friends and making new ones. I felt privileged to be a part of such a warm and caring community.

.The new Early Learning Center! Over the holiday, Mr. Biggs and his crew renovated the Early Learning Center to accommodate our new multi-age program for our youngest learners. The new open concept allows our 3-5 year olds to move from station to station in flexible groups based on their particular developmental needs. This flexible space and a very favorable teacher to student ratio will provide a highly personalized learning experience.

.A new Security Manager! In collaboration with our security provider, USI, we have added a Security Manager to our team. Based in the main office, Mike Mills will be working with us to improve our infrastructure, protocols, and training in order to ensure a high level of safety and security for everyone on campus. Many thanks to USI for their support.

.No more overhead wires! Over the holiday, we embarked on a large project to improve the electrical infrastructure on campus. This included removing redundant transformers, installing modern feeder pillars and substations, relocating one of our gensets, and burying most of our overhead wires. As a result, I am excited to report that our new electrical infrastructure is much safer, more efficient, and more aesthetically pleasing. Please take a look at the before and after pictures below to appreciate the significant aesthetic enhancements this project has made to our lovely campus.
