 What I’m excited about…

  1. Dear Edwina! Please come and enjoy the Secondary School musical production, Dear Edwina, next week. Shows are at 19:00 on 16 and 17 November and 15:00 on 18 November. Our scholar-actors have been working very hard on this production for many weeks. Please come out to show them your support. Many thanks to Jeff Redman and Dee Hausman and their team for making this happen.
  2. Umoya Band Festival at AISJ! In a couple weeks, sixteen of our Grades 7 and 8 scholar-musicians will be traveling to Johannesburg for the invitational Umoya Band Festival. The name “Umoya” is the Zulu word for “spirit” or “soul” as well as “wind instruments”, which sets a great tone for an exciting weekend of making friends and making music. This event will also serve to add even more strength to our new and thriving band program. Many thanks to Chel Illingworth for coordinating this great opportunity for our students.
  3. Thanksgiving! The upcoming American Thanksgiving holiday is my favorite holiday of the year. The focus of the day is to share a meal with family and friends and to pause and be grateful for all that we have. No commercialism, no materialism, just gratitude and the company of loved ones. Who could ask for more? To help share the spirit of the holiday, the Tuck Shop will be serving a Thanksgiving-inspired hot lunch on Wednesday, 22 November.
