What I’m excited about this week
  1. Board of Directors Members Needed! We will be holding elections for the Board of Directors during their meeting on 16 April.  Please consider running for one of the four vacancies. To run, you need to be nominated by two members of the parent association (via a short form from Shantall) and submit a short biography that will be published in the Leopard’s Tale no later than 26 March. To learn more about being a board member, please read the description later in this newsletter. You can also find out directly by speaking to a board member
  2. Congratulations Mwamba Mulangala! As you know, we are very lucky to have highly talented faculty members here at AISL. Recently, the works of our brilliant Primary School Visual Arts Teacher, Mwamba Mulangala, were featured on the website of the Embassy of Germany. Please take a look.

Did you know…?

Did you know that the AISL Board of Directors has seven members? The composition of the Board was established in 1986 after the school was created through a diplomatic agreement between the U.S. Embassy and the government of Zambia. The board comprises of two members who are appointed by the U.S. Ambassador and five elected members. Of the elected members, two must be connected to the U.S. Embassy.  You can learn a bit more here.
