What I am excited about this week…

1. Lower Primary Art Exhibit! Thank you to our Kindergarten and Grade 1 & 2 students, whose wonderful artwork has been exhibited in the PAC Gallery all week. Many thanks also to their excellent teacher, Mr. Mulangala.

2. Personal Project Expo! All Grade 10 students are required to conduct a Personal Project as the culmination of their work in the IB Middle Years Program (Grades 6‐10). This project allows them to spend all year delving deeply into something about which they are passionate. In the past, we have had some truly impressive projects. I expect the same this year when our Grade 10 students display their projects at the Personal Project Expo on Friday, March 10 from 1300‐1500 on the lawn in front of the library. Please come join us for this exciting showcase of student learning. Thank you to Ms. Bowin for coordinating AISL’s Personal Project program.

3. IB DP Theatre Night! Bravo! to the IB DP Theatre Arts students who presented their final Solo Theatre Projects on Tuesday, March 7. This was a great showcase for our very talented scholar‐actors. The students were required to create a performance that integrated some of the unique creative aspects of a selected theatre practitioner. The results were intense and thought‐provoking. Some scholar‐actors even explored spaces other than the theater for their performance: Tora Turner’s performance used the secondary parking lot as her stage! Thank you to Mr. Redman for guiding these talented students.

4. Triathlon! Thank you to the planners of this year’s Triathlon. Once again it was a smashing success. This is a wonderful community activity and is one of the highlights of the school calendar. It is also an important fundraiser for the Torpedoes. Many thanks to all who participated in the event and helped support the Torpedoes.
