What I am excited about this week…
PTA Meeting! Remember that Friday, 30 August is our first PTA meeting. The PTA is trying a new day and time that coordinates with the Friday Market. The meeting will be from 11:00-11:55 on the patio of the Palm Pavilion. Please come join us. Friday Market! The first Friday Market of the year will be held on Friday, 30 August. This is a great opportunity to buy lunch, produce, and other items as you are picking up your children. The market will be held in the same place as last year: on the grass between the covered court and the Primary School playground. SUNY Master’s Degree Program at AISL! We are planning to host an on-site Master’s Degree in Education program through the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo. This is open to parents and community members as well as teachers from ISAZ schools. The first course is coming right up, so you will need to apply very soon. For more information, please feel free to contact Russ Menard at [email protected]. Primary Open Day! Remember that the Primary School Open Day will occur on 4 September. This is a great opportunity to visit your child’s classroom and learn more about our program. For more information, please see the Primary School section later in this newsletter. Did you know…? I thought it might be fun to have a column in the Leopard’s Tale where I shared interesting facts about the school. So, here goes: AISL was founded in 1986 as a result of a diplomatic agreement between the United States Embassy and the government of Zambia. The school was originally located in Roma and moved to its current site in the early 1990’s. AISL’s first graduating class was in May 2004. The Class of 2020 will be our 17th graduating class.
