What I am excited about this week…

1. ISSEA Cultural Festivals!  This week our ISSEA scholar‐artists are in Johannesburg and Harare for the ISSEA Band and Choir Festival and the ISSEA Visual Arts and Drama Festival, respectively. These festivals provide great opportunities for our students to improve their artistic skills, collaborate with other artists, and share their work with others. With the addition of these festivals and the upcoming ISSEA STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) event, ISSEA has shown that it can be much more than just an international sports league.

2. Swimmers! Congratulations to all the AISL students who participated in the CANA Zone IV Championship last week in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. Way to go Torpedoes!

3. Triathlon! Speaking of Torpedoes, please plan to come out to support the Torpedoes’ Triathlon on Saturday, March 4. Not only is this an important fundraising event for the Torpedoes but it is also a very fun community event. Even if you choose not to participate in all or a part of the triathlon, I highly recommend that you come and enjoy the fair‐like atmosphere and cheer on the triathletes of all ages. It is a truly wonderful community event. It is also an exceedingly complex event to organize so many thanks to the Torpedoes’ planning team for making it happen. If you wish to enter the triathlon, remember that the deadline is February 27th. There are registration forms available in the main office.
