Screenagers Viewing! AISL is proud to host a free screening of the acclaimed documentary Screenagers on Thursday, 7 September from 16:00-17:30 in the PAC. The film focuses on the on the impact of technology on tweens & teens as well as the challenges of parenting in the digital age. All are welcome but this movie is best suited for students in Grades 5-8 to view with their parents. It will be followed by an opportunity for reflection and discussion.
Go Green! Liz Cooke from the Tuck Shop is happy to serve food in clean plastic containers that you bring from home. Additionally, you are very welcome to bring your containers to Friday market vendors to avoid using Styrofoam (polystyrene). Please consider doing this so we can reduce the amount of solid waste we are generating on campus.
Board Retreat! On Saturday, 2 September, the Board of Directors will join me in an all-day retreat to review the school’s progress and to set goals for continued school improvement. AISL is very lucky to have a very dedicated and supportive Board of Directors.
Library Open House and PTA Community Picnic! Please come join this fun event on Saturday, 2 September from 10:00-13:00. This is a great opportunity to browse hundreds of new titles, talk with a regional travel expert, get to know our talented library staff, and to learn about all that our amazing library has to offer. At the same time, the PTA will be hosting a community picnic on the lawn in front of the library. More details will follow in the PTA newsletter and next week’s Leopard’s Tale. I hope to see you there.
