What I am excited about this week…

  1. AISL Parent Survey! Before we finish the year, I want to make sure that everybody has a chance to provide feedback on how we are doing. Could I trouble you to take a few moments to complete our annual online parent survey? This survey allows us to evaluate our programs with an eye toward continuous improvement. We will use the results to set goals for the 2017-18 school year. The survey should take less than ten minutes to complete. I know you are busy but, if at all possible, I would appreciate if you could complete one survey per child based on that child's experience at AISL. This means that if you have two children enrolled at the school, then kindly complete two different surveys. Your responses to this survey are anonymous. Please try to complete the survey by June 5. Here is the link to the survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/KXH7QZN
  2. Teacher Appreciation Week! Please join the PTA in celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week next week. Our teachers work very hard to provide high quality learning experiences during the day and then to support a wide range of events after school, including many evenings and weekends as well as frequent 24/7 supervision on various trips. Please take a few minutes next week to recognize their Herculean efforts. See below for details.
  3. Middle School Band and Choir Concert and Visual Arts Exhibition! Please come join us for our Middle School Band and Choir concert on June 1 at 1830 in the PAC. This concert is the culmination of an entire year’s worth of hard work in our new band and choir programs. There will also be an exhibition of our visual artists in the PAC Gallery. Please come out and enjoy an evening of the arts.
  4. Middle School Winter Wonderland Dance! The Middle School Student Council will be hosting the Winter Wonderland Dance for students in Grades 6-8 on Friday, June 2 from 17:00-20:00. Please plan to pick up students no later than 20:00. Tickets must be pre-purchased and cost K35, which will include drinks and food. It will be held under the Science Building dome.
  5. The Senior Walk! Last week may have seen the start of a fun new tradition at AISL. On Friday, our Grade 12 students donned their graduation caps and gowns and paraded around campus. The entire school from ELC through high school lined the walkways to cheer them on, take pictures, give high fives, and hold up handmade congratulatory signs. What fun!
